Technological innovativeness is of utmost importance for enabling enterprises to adapt and grow in the global market. This paper investigates the causality between export activities and technological innovativeness among Vietnamese Small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In this study, we utilized a dataset covering 7,639 small and medium enterprises in Vietnam. We employed Spearman’s correlation analysis, Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) tests, and a logit regression model to process and analyze the data. Our findings demonstrate that export participation significantly increases Vietnamese SMEs’ probability of technological innovativeness, the introduction of new products, the enhancement of existing products, and the application of novel production processes.
