In the course of socio-economic development, labor has always played a central role, determining production efficiency and national productivity. The effective operation of the labor market, where labor supply and demand intersect, is a core driver of sustainable growth. However, in reality, the labor market in Vietnam and many other countries is facing various challenges: imbalances between labor supply and demand, an oversupply of low-skilled workers, a shortage of highly skilled labor, and rapid shifts in employment structure driven by digital transformation and globalization. This paper aims to analyze the current dynamics of labor supply and demand and to propose several policy implications to help develop a more flexible, modern, and adaptive labor market that aligns with the digital age and contributes to sustainable growth and human capital development in the future.
